My name is Bahram Maskanian, I am a Persian-American man,
an advocate of Reason, Rational and Common Sense, an
environmentalist, humanist, political and social justice, human
rights, gender equality activist, essayist, songwriter, producer
and poet. - I am a person who believes that in all ethical,
esthetic and matters of central concerns, such as Global Warming
and Global Warring, I shall put protection of the environment,
our home, Planet Earth and humanity as the two and final purposes
of my work and existence.
Global Warming has been in progress ever since the industrial
age. The consequences of Global Warming are all around us; we
simply need to take our head out of the sand of deceit and self-deception
to see them. The ruling elite, who is responsible for Global
Warming, wants us to believe that the irreversible consequences
of Global Warming will begin in the year 2020, and some say
it will begin in the year 2030. These people, the greedy ruling
elite, are effectively passing the responsibility of what needs
to be done, today, right now, to the next generation, to our
innocent children and grand children, except, in this case,
it will be too late.
Every day, we, the humankind need to remind ourselves that
we have only one planet to live on, Planet Earth. We must come
together and unite, to enact new policies and make the necessary
political and economic changes, to save ourselves. We need to
educate the brainwashed consumer, through mass media and government
public announcements about the means of living healthy and environmentally
friendly. We cannot afford to sit idle, waiting for the greedy
ruling elite, who brought us to where we are, and for so many
years lied and denied that, there is such disastrous event,
taking place as Global Warming, to do something about it now.
Events such as Global Warming, requires immediate action.
We must realize that prayer has never fixed anything, and it
never will, we need action, now, not prayer. We all need to
learn and face the simple and obvious fact that, we are not
being watched over by a supernatural male god. We, the humankind
have been built exquisitely by Mother Nature equipped with intelligent
faculties to think, reason and learn the wisdom of life and
the world around us, in order to determine our path in life,
to live, love and learn, on our own and prosper. Or, let greed
destroy our planet and all of humanity, it is our choice. We
all know very well what needs to be done to fix Global Warming
we simply must act on it.
We, the humankind are fully responsible for ourselves, our
actions and our own well being, therefore we better get our
act together as a species and work out our silly and mediocre
differences to stop destroying our one and only habitat. Stop
killing each other over some supernatural male god barbaric
laws, made by men, and stop relying on supernatural powers to
save, or protect us, history teaches us that never happened
and it never will. Global Warring and plunder; brought us Global
Warming, direct result of our own greedy actions. - Think about
this for a minute, if a deadly automobile accident should occur,
due to alcohol consumption, who is to blame; the drunk driver,
the road, alcohol, or the car? - The greedy ruling elite, drunk
with power and plundered wealth, drove us, the humanity over
the cliff, into the destructive zone of Global Warming and now
it is up to us, the public to fix it.
The many unanswered questions such as; where did it all come
from, why, how, and where are we going from here, are all valid
questions and mysteries of life, which will never be solved,
if we continue on our current path of greed and destruction.
As a secular environmentalist and humanist, I see the creation
argument to be very simple, which is that in the service of
a transcendent moral obligation and concerns, we, the humankind,
need to put aside our silly and mediocre differences for the
time being and stop fussing over evolution, or creation. Simply
by looking at the overwhelming evidence, we can all agree that
Earth's life sustaining ability and elements are fast disappearing
due to humankind's stupidity and greedy conduct. Nothing supernatural
about this fact, we are doing it, and we must stop it.
We are a biological species living in a biological world,
well adapted to our one and only home, Planet Earth. We have
originated here, on this planet with all of our peculiarities
including the stupid ones, that are threatening us all, today,
in the year 2007.
We need to understand ourselves realistically in the context
of a biological species and stop thinking of ourselves as semi
angels. Planet Earth is not a wait station on the way on up
to an infinite and idealized existence up above. Just think
for a few minutes, think of what we are leaving behind for our
innocent children and grand children?
Common sense, science, public opinion and politics are the
most powerful social forces, which could bring humanity together
and unite all of us for a common cause, based on a common ground
of survival, where we can exercise our extraordinary power of
unity we have, jointly, together, in order to stop Global Warring
and Global Warming.
Or let our children and grand children pay the unimaginable
price of pain and suffering.
Love of Reason and Humanity
- - Love of humanity is to love justice, to long for the right, to love mercy, to expose the suffering, to assist the weak, to become the voice of the voiceless, to forget wrongs and remember the benefits of unconditional charity.
Love of humanity is to love the truth, to be sincere, to utter honest words, to love liberty, to wage relentless war against slavery in all its forms, to love wife / husband, child, family and friends, to make a happy home, to create a happy community.
Love of humanity is to love the beautiful in art, in nature, to cultivate the mind, to be familiar with the mighty thoughts that genius has expressed, the noble deeds of all the world, to cultivate courage, ethics, reason, common sense and cheerfulness.
Love of humanity is to give anonymously and make others happy, to fill life with the brilliance of generous acts, the warmth of kind loving words, to discard error, to destroy prejudice and tribalism in all its forms.
Love of humanity is to receive new truths with open-mind and open-arms, to cultivate hope, to see the calm beyond the storm, the dawn beyond the night, to do the best that can be done and then to be resigned.
Love of humanity is to spread the light of truth and hope, either to be the source of light, truth and hope, The Projector, or be The Mirror, that spreads and reflects the light of truth and hope to others.
This is my religion, the true religion of reason, common sense, love and the creed of science. This satisfies my soul, heart and the mind. - -
